Newton MyvettATLANTA, Ga. – Newton Myvett has been named president of The Art Institute of Atlanta. President Myvett comes to Atlanta from The Art Institute of Charleston, a branch of The Art Institute of Atlanta, where he was president for 10 months.
“It has been said that tomorrow’s challenges shape today’s education. Never has this statement been more relevant than now. Our commitment to preparing our students for these challenges is what drives The Art Institute of Atlanta’s mission,” said President Myvett. “I am excited to be back in Atlanta, working with the excellent team of faculty and staff here to realize our shared commitment to serving our students as they work to achieve their educational goals.”
President Myvett comes to Atlanta with over two decades of experience in higher education administration. Building on more than five years of success as vice president/senior director of admissions at The Art Institute of Pittsburgh and The Art Institute of Atlanta, he most recently served The Art Institutes system of schools at the national system level as vice president of admissions. He has also served as president for three other Art Institutes schools – The Art Institute of Phoenix, The Art Institute of Austin, a branch of The Art Institute of Houston, and most recently The Art Institute of Charleston, a branch of The Art Institute of Atlanta.
Prior to joining The Art Institutes system of schools in 2003, President Myvett held a series of marketing and admissions management positions with DeVry University, Lincoln Institute and Katharine Gibbs School, among others.
