Debuting with a novel that has taken audiences by storm is an extraordinary author that goes by the name of K. A. Robinson. Her latest, Torn, has rightfully obtained a spot on the New York Times and USA Today bestselling lists – an amazing feat. Offering a tale that fuses young love, dark pasts and raging emotions, Torn is a passionate read with easily captivating characters.
At the center of Torn is Chloe. As a child, life was not good for her. She carries the scars of being the victim of an abusive mother who was only off drugs long enough to give birth. When Chloe was not being beaten for ruining everything (states her mother), she was either carried to parties and abandoned or left home alone for days. After basically rearing herself, Chloe makes a fresh start by enrolling in West Virginia University with her friends Logan and Amber. Life is finally good for Chloe – until love happens.
The first day of class, Chloe sits next to a guy that literally takes her breath away. He has an aura that suggests he is the ultimate bad boy – a quality that instantly attracts her. Drake (aka bad boy) is basically interested in himself. Being the lead singer in a band gave him more than his fair share of groupies.  However, something about Chloe piqued his interest –
something that has never happened before.
Meanwhile, the dynamics change between Logan and Chloe’s relationship. After leaving a club one evening, a brewing attraction turns physical and lines are crossed between them. Although Chloe is try to handle the emotional change between her and Logan, Drake is constantly on her mind. Eventually Chloe and Drake fall in love but this proves to be not an easy process.
Torn is an emotional read on more than one level. Its characters are multifaceted presenting a depth that is thoroughly realistic.
In addition to writing, K. A. Robinson is an avid reader. She spends her time with her young son and husband. West Virginia is home for her and her family.
