MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Alabama State University volleyball player Brooke Beasley and football player Edward Mosley have been named to the NCAA Division I District 4 CoSIDA Academic All-District teams.
Beasley leads the Lady Hornets in assists while also working on her degree in accounting. The junior setter from Winfield leads ASU with four double-doubles this season while also being named the SWAC’s Setter of the Week on two occasions and was named to the Arizona State All-Tournament Team.
Mosley is a junior defensive end from Atlanta and is majoring in marketing. He is one of the top pass rushers in the conference and is tied for second on the team with 6.0 sacks and is tied for third in the SWAC.
Beasley and Mosley will now advance to the Capital One Academic All-America Team ballot, where first, second and third team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
To be nominated for the Academic Team each nominee must be a starter or important reserve while also maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average in the classroom.
