Jefferson County re-opened its Jefferson County Northern Satellite Office in Gardendale at noon on Feb. 1.

The office, located at 651 Main Street, Suite 127, resumed serving the public after an extended closure. Feb. 1 marked its first official day back in business serving the residents of North Jefferson County.

Initially, services offered will include:

  • Motor Vehicle Registration and Renewal
  • Vehicle Titles
  • Conservation Licenses (Hunting and Fishing)
  • Boat Registration and Renewal
  • Manufactured Home Registration and Renewal
  • Business License Issuance and Renewals
  • Collection of Sales Tax Payments

Services to follow include the issuance of concealed carry permits by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office in early February, and eventually, driver’s license renewals.  The Tax Collector will also maintain a seasonal staff from Oct. 1 to Jan. 31 each year.

“We are extremely excited to be returning to Gardendale” said Jefferson County Manager, Tony Petelos.  “This has been a great location for us in the past, and we look forward to serving these residents.  As work continues on the I-20/59 junction, it’s going to be increasingly difficult for residents in the northern part of the county to make it to the Birmingham location.  We’ve got a great staff in place here and we hope that the residents are pleased as we continue to make efforts to enhance services.”

The Northern Satellite Office will be open Monday to Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the exception of county holidays.  The office can be reached at 205-909-3610.  General inquires for the Department of Revenue should continue to be directed to the call center at 205-325-5171.
