In District 3, if you have a child who attends Epic Elementary, Glen Iris Elementary, or Avondale Elementary join us for our School Supply Pop-up for a book bag and school supply giveaway with Councilor Josh Vasa. The fun starts at 10 a.m. at Bessie Estell Park — while supplies last!
Peace on the Block is in its third year on 1200 Tuscaloosa Avenue. Join Councilors LaTonya Tate and Crystal Smitherman from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. for a day of music, food, vendors, speakers, and resources!
Starting at 11 a.m., District 7 Council President Wardine Alexander is teaming up with Roosevelt City, East and West Brownsville for an annual Bookbag Giveaway at the Roosevelt City Recreation Center. Join the event for free school supplies, food, haircuts, and a bounce house — while supplies last.
Finally, get ready to start the new school year with a SPLASH over in District 4 with Councilor Brian Gunn. The fun starts at 11 a.m. with a senior citizen swim — then from Noon until 6 p.m. residents can enjoy food, music, back to school supplies, and a lot of pool time!
