Miles College will take a two-game winning streak into its contest against Lane College (0-3, 0-5) on Saturday, Oct. 3 at home. The kickoff for this Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference game will be at 2 p.m. This is also Homecoming for the Golden Bears (2-1, 2-3).
Over the last two weeks, Miles College has been able to light up the scoreboard. However, the defense has played extremely well too. Kingston Lowe, a terrific defensive lineman, has been a great pass rusher for the Golden Bears. Lowe has three solo sacks and four total on the season. He ranks second in the conference. Defense could be a big factor in this game.

Tuskegee University is coming off a huge 20-17 victory over No. 5th ranked Benedict College last week. The Golden Tigers are led by quarterback Bryson McGrew, running back Ja’khael Rowser and wide receiver Preston Parker. These players are capable of making big plays for Tuskegee University.
In the Southwestern Athletic Conference, Alabama State (1-0, 3-1) will visit Bethune-Cookman (0-0, 2-2) on Saturday, Oct. 3. The kickoff will be at 3 p.m. The Hornets’ success has been a strong ground attack. ASU running backs Jamarie Hostzclaw and Jareese Howard have given the offense quite a boost. Hostzclaw and Howard have combined for six touchdowns. ASU could lean on its running game against Bethune-Cookman.
Elsewhere in the SWAC, Alabama A&M (1-0, 4-1) will battle Jackson State (1-0, 4-0) on Saturday, Oct. 3 in the Gulf Coast Challenge. The game will take place in Mobile. The kickoff will be at 4 p.m.
This is a big matchup. These two teams are in the SWAC East Division. This game will feature two of the conference’s top quarterbacks with AAMU’s Cornelious Brown IV and Jackson State’s Jared Lockhart. Brown and Lockhart could be the players to watch in this game.
