United Way of Central Alabama topped its 2018 fundraising goal.

Alan Register, an executive with Regions Bank and 2018 Volunteer Campaign Chairman, announced last week that the fundraising goal of $38 million was met. This reflects pledge estimates and not the final results of companies that are still conducting campaigns or individuals who have not renewed pledges in writing.

“We have once again proven that we are a brother’s keeper community,” said Register.

Drew Langloh, President and CEO of United Way of Central Alabama summed up why the campaign matters and the work ahead.

“The focus is often how much money we raised. For me the money represents the thousands of lives that are going to be helped and changed because of generous people,” he said.

This summer, Kennon Walthall, Senior Vice President, Avenue Insights & Analytics led a Pacesetter Campaign with over 62 companies and set a goal of $12.9 million  and exceeded that goal raising $13.6 million.  Those pledges put United Way over one-third of the way toward its goal.
