Fulfilling the Truth

0

Electra AdamsI was engaged in a conversation with my daughter who is employed by a local bank. Exhausted from all of the events discussed in a meeting that day, she could only say,“Things are changing so rapidly that all I can say is that it is that end of times thing.” I thought to myself, That’s a statement you don’t hear very often, especially from young people. I tossed it about in my mind for a moment and thought, “Hum, the days are getting shorter and darker as the fall season progresses. Prophetically speaking, though, the days are getting shorter (for God promised to shorten the days) and darker (our time is faced with horrific challenges, so much so that they challenge the minds of those who pose as spiritual beings) as the end of days for modern humanity come to a close.
I do not know how you see it, but let’s just look at some signs of this fulfilling truth spoken of by Jesus… Matthew 24:4…Take heed that no (man) deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ (I am anointed); and shall deceive many. We have been flooded with messages of prosperity, name it and claim it, and building great buildings  \instead of building great people of integrity and faith beyond things; faith in a hard time, persecution, facing death, conquering evil in our time and the likes. Even now, deception works a mighty work in the house of our God and is becoming bolder as time continues. It is an absolute truth that the Word of God has been craftily handled, and ignorantly preached. The deception Jesus warns the church of lies in the core of church…for many will come in my name…and shall deceive many. We must be careful how we hear what we hear!
Traveling this summer I took note of this wave of values and teaching in today’s church. Most young people told me that they were looking for a church that they might have fun and a good time. They sated that they were not looking for anyone that talked about sin, scrutinizing them. When I listened to what was being preached, I found leaders assuring people that the term evil must be defined accurately (and this is true), for that which was once preached as evil was the will of God, therefore, it was good. (Isaiah declared that they will call evil good and good evil); and because of grace, everyone will live eternally with Jesus our lord. A second point being declared was, man will never be perfectly flawless. Therefore, God, knowing that circumstances develop that denies humans the strength or ability to forgive, should he die with un-forgiveness in his heart, he will enter eternal life with Christ. Well, the doctrine of one world church will declare that also. Here are some scriptures to ponder until next week: I John 3:10, 14; Matthew 6:12-15.

A Quest to Know God

PERILOUS TIMES
Perilous times, are dangerous times, such as the times we now live in, whereby those who profess to know Jesus are lovers of themselves walking in an arrogant spirit with empty minds, which means they do not carefully choose their words when speaking the Word of God. They are full of words that are irreverent to Scripture, and they speak them boastfully to their congregation. Silly women love it and pride themselves in walking in it. These are the times that II timothy 3:1 and II Peter 2:1 teaches you about. You must be vigilant to such Scripture for yourself and read what God has in His Word regarding the times we presently live in so that you will not be misled by erroneous teachers who profess to be teachers of the Word of God, but they are not or they teach to mislead you.
Jesus said, “You shall know them by their fruits [Matthew 7:5-20]. Jesus said to the Pharisees one day, “Search the Scripture”. Do you search Scriptures, in order to” know” what it says?
The Lord is calling for all those who are His to live a quiet and reserved life for Him in this world – so the world may see the difference in lifestyles, and be encouraged to give their lives to the Lord. Scripture teaches, come out from among them. This does not mean for you to live apart from the people in the world, if you do, you cannot reach the world for the Lord. He does mean for you to live a Christian life in the midst of the world. The life you live should be a calling card to come to Jesus. “This is the way – walk therein. It is not necessarily spoken words that win people to the Lord, but rather, the life you live during your daily walk with the Lord that is most impressive. Your life should be a reflection – “Jesus lives in me” – meaning the Holy Spirit is your guide/leader.
Perilous times means your life is at risk and in danger, no matter what you do or say. As you can see, laws are being decided upon and passed to prohibit your speaking against sin that takes place in the most depraved way, and the Word of God clearly says it is an abomination to God. You must ask the Lord to give you courage to live your daily life until He comes and judges the world with His righteous judgment. HALLELUJAH!

MONTGOMERY – Alabama State University head football coach Reggie Barlow addressed the media at Monday’s Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) coaches teleconference and discussed last week’s loss at Alcorn State and this week’s important road trip to Prairie View A&M.
“We went down to Alcorn on Thursday and knew it would be a challenging game on the road,” Barlow said.  “They are playing with a lot of confidence and are a well-coached team.  Really it was a good ole fashioned whipping put on us.  We didn’t do anything right offensively or defensively. We just didn’t have it and they dominated us in the trenches and had a great scheme and of course we came up short.”
After playing four consecutive games at home, the Hornets will be on the road for the second consecutive week when they travel to Texas to face Prairie View A&M.  It is ASU’s second trip to the Longhorn State this season and the Hornets will face a talented Panthers team that is coming off a strong showing in a 48-30 road win at Jackson State.
“We have Prairie View this week, another challenging game,” Barlow said.  “You tell your team each week it’s a big game and big challenge because of the parity in our league.  It is no different this week when we go to Prairie View.  I think it’s their homecoming and there will be a lot of festivities going on and a lot of excitement there for their program.  They just had a big win against Jackson State so it’s another game we have to get up for and it’s on the road in a hostile environment. We have to get our guys ready to go so we can get back on track.”
Before the teleconference started the SWAC released this week’s players of the week.  Alabama State sophomore linebacker Kourtney Berry picked up the Defensive Player of the Week honor based on his play at Alcorn State.
The SWAC’s leading tackler made 15 total stops against the Braves with 12 of those being solos.  Berry now has a SWAC-leading 67 total stops on the season.  The 15 tackles equals his single-game tackles record he had set last season at Arkansas-Pine Bluff.  Berry is averaging 11.1 tackles per game which is second in the SWAC.  It is the fourth weekly honor this season for the preseason defensive player of the year.
