HAPPY BIRTHDAY TALLADEGA SUPERSPEEDWAY!! CELEBRATING 45 YEARS!! TODAY…..

NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Drivers Erik Jones & Ben Kennedy Re-enact Historic Photo of Kennedy’s Great Grandfather – NASCAR & Talladega Superspeedway Founder Bill France, Sr. – Selling Race Tickets to First Talladega Race Weekend in 1969; Duo Will Also Visit Lincoln Elementary Students
Talladega Superspeedway is celebrating its 45th Anniversary this weekend  that coincides with the GEICO 500 weekend.  Ben Kennedy will be racing for the first time at the house his great grandfather built.  And, Erik Jones, 18 years old will, also, be competing at the high-banked mammoth facility for the first time.
In preparation for the fred’s 250 Powered by Coca-Cola NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Talladega Superspeedway, the two ‘young guns’ of NASCAR – Ben Kennedy, great grandson of Talladega Superspeedway creator and NASCAR Founder Bill Frances, Sr. and Erik Jones, the latest winner in the Truck series are at Talladega Superspeedway today.  There will be a symbolic event where Kennedy will mimic his great grandfather, France Sr., who not only build NASCAR’s biggest track 45 years ago, but promoted it by selling tickets to fans as they entered the Speedway grounds.  Kennedy, who ranks eighth in the championship standings and Jones who has won two races for Kyle Busch Motorsports will, also, visit Lincoln Elementary School.  The facility will be designed to mirror Talladega Superspeedway where an actual stock car of former driver Kyle Petty can be found displayed in the cafeteria.  The drivers, sporting their uniforms will be a part of an assembly and interact with students.

Talladega Superspeedway is NASCAR’s “Party Capital” thanks to the track’s infamous infield and world renowned Talladega Blvd. The historic venue has always worked hard to enhance the fan experience in every way and now features the most comfortable seats in motorsports, large video viewing boards (a new initiative planned for future implementation at all ISC tracks) lining the frontstretch and endless activities for fans throughout its event weekends.
