Publix customers in the Birmingham area raised $166,857 for the Central Alabama Food Bank through the Food for All register collection program. Customers also donated food this spring to help feed those in need through the Food for Sharing register collection program. Three tractor trailer loads of food was delivered to the food bank this week. “Thousands of individuals and families in need will have food on their tables this year” because of donations from Publix customers, said Brenda Reid, Publix media and community relations manager for the Atlanta division.
