Birmingham already in an electrified state with 2023 Magic City Classic festivities turned up even further as rap sensation Tip “T.I.” Harris premiered his highly anticipated movie, DA’PARTMENTS in the city.

This red-carpet event drew fans and T.I. in tow with castmates and the likes of fellow musical artists such as wife, Tiny and friend Young Dro.

Set in modern-day Atlanta and inspired by real-life events, DA’PARTMENTS explores the fine line between the everyday struggles of the underprivileged and the enchantment hidden within an apartment complex.

In 2010, T.I. starred and produced the crime action thriller film “Takers”. Directed by John Luessenhop, it was T.I.’s first role as film producer.

His second film and the reason he drew a crowd to the Lakeshore Birmingham Premiere LUX Cine for the premiere. Earlier this year, the Atlanta native told fans about his latest venture via Instagram, writing, “The wait is almost over!!!! Get Ready for Uncensored Unhinged Unapologetic Hood humor at its finest…”
