On Tuesday, April 21, the Jefferson County Probate Court will host its inaugural Senior Summit. The event, which will be held from 10 am to 2 pm, is designed to provide valuable resources and services to senior citizens throughout Jefferson County.
Attendees will hear from Presiding Judge Yashiba Blanchard and representatives from the Birmingham Fire Department, Elections Divisions, United Way of Central Alabama, Jefferson County Health Department and more.

“Events like the Senior Summit are more than gatherings; they are a reflection of our commitment to the people who built this community,” said Judge Yashiba Blanchard. “For Jefferson County, it means honoring our seniors not just with words, but with resources, connection and continued investment in their quality of life. When we show up for them, we strengthen the foundation of our entire county.”
The Jefferson County Probate Court invites all seniors, caregivers, and community members to attend and take advantage of this opportunity to learn, connect, and engage with trusted local partners and essential services.
Organizers say the Senior Summit reflects an ongoing commitment to ensuring that Jefferson County’s senior population remains informed, supported, and empowered. This inaugural event marks the beginning of continued efforts to prioritize the well-being and dignity of seniors across the county.
