Meet the tractor-obsessed fifth-generation farmer who is taking social media by storm at just three years old.

Tommy Summerbell has impressed his family with his caring nature when looking after their myriad of animals including dogs, sheep, goats, alpacas, chickens, cows and horses.

His proud mum, Kate Weightman, 29, says he is ‘seriously tractor obsessed’ after having his first ride on one at just two days old.

The toddler, who goes to nursery two days a week, now regularly drives a combine harvester – while sitting on his dad’s lap.

The cute tot, who lives on a 70-acre farm near Hartlepool in Crimdon, Co Durham, has amassed over 55k TikTok followers in less than two months.

His doting mum posts adorable videos of his outdoor antics, mostly riding around on tractors, ‘strutting’ around with his loyal dogs, and helping his dad with the daily workload.

Kate, who owns a beauty business, explained: ”He really is just farming mad.

”All he wants to do is be out and about with his dad.

”He loves being outside with the tractors and the animals.

”He charges around having the time of his life.

”He really loves going to check on the cows and lets the chickens out every morning.

”His first few words were ‘tractor’ and ‘digger’ and then after that ‘mum’.

”Thankfully I wasn’t offended!

”He’s an incredibly caring little boy.

”We’d never push him into farming, as far as we’re concerned he can do whatever he wants later in life.

”But it does seem that he’ll be in line to take over the family business.

”He already tells all the teachers at nursery about ‘my farm’.”

Tommy’s dad, David Summerbell, 37, has lived and worked on the family farm all his life.

David and Kate even plan to get married there in May 2022 – with Tommy as ring bearer.

Alongside the farm animals, Tommy is usually accompanied by two loyal sheep dogs, border collies, Jess, 13, and Floss, four.

Kate said: ”The dogs adore him and will follow him everywhere he goes on the farm.

”They’re like his two little sidekicks.

”The first thing he does in the morning is to go and find the dogs to give them a stroke and say ‘good morning’.

”He loves them so much.

”He loves all the animals… seeing him feeding a baby goat or running around with the chickens, it’s so heartwarming.

”I think it’s why his social media has really captured people’s hearts.

”Some of his videos have over a million views, one of him with a baby goat has over six million, it’s mad!

”I like to include normal things he helps with during the day, like feeding hay to the cows, driving the combine harvester with David, and rounding up the sheep.

”We’ve not had one negative comment yet, everyone has been so kind.”

According to Tommy’s grandparents, Cath, 60, and Paul, 60 – who also live on the farm – he is the ‘spitting image’ of his dad, David, as a young boy.

”They say they’re two peas in a pod,” Kate said.

”Cath always says it’s literally like looking at David at that age.

”We’re a bit worried about when it comes to full-time school next year as we can’t see Tommy wanting to leave the farm five full days a week.

”He always asks me ‘Mum, is this my farm?’, he’s obsessed!”

A cheerleading couple stunned passersby when they carried out a gravity-defying acrobatic stunt in their wedding outfits on a pedestrian crossing.

Blushing bride – Denise Alexis, 27, from Singapore – shared the video on TikTok where it has been viewed 300,000 times.

She explained: “We did a crazy photoshoot along Orchard Road, how did you think it went?”

Despite hitting the headlines in the couple’s homeland last week, Denise told Zenger News that the sensational single-handed hoist was filmed on 27th February.

In the footage, Denise and her groom are seen preparing for the stunt on the street as a stylist adds the finishing touches to the bride’s makeup.

The couple then walks into the middle of Orchard Road – Singapore’s busiest street – and get into position for their acrobatics.

As the groom hoists his cheerleader bride into the air with one arm, she holds a bouquet of flowers above her head and smiles for the camera.

Then the groom lowers his wife to the ground as a helper runs over and lowers her onto the tarmac before the group quickly gets out of the street.

Denise, a marketing manager, and content creator, told Zenger that she and her partner have been cheerleaders “for about 10 years now”.

She explained: “We have actually been doing yearly stunt photos on the road for a while now, usually during Chinese New Year, so it’s sort of like a tradition we do with each other.

“When the photographer suggested trying it, we were super down to do it.

“Also this stunt is a simple stunt that most cheerleaders would do when taking cheer photos.

“I expected the video to gain more views than usual, but I did not expect it to go that viral and have so much news coverage on it.

“We are glad that most reactions were happy for us and that it was mainly positive reactions, we expected some negative ones, especially from those who don’t understand the sport or didn’t understand that we planned everything carefully, such as choosing a pedestrian crossing that was one of the longest timing (1 min 30 seconds).

“We are also happy that our images are bringing attention to cheerleading as a sport in Singapore.”

Eureka! Scientists Believe Jupiter Moon Europa Could Sustain Life

By Zachary Rosenthal

Life in outer space might be more than a sci-fi fantasy.

Scientists studying Europa, one of Jupiter’s most famous icy moons, have found that some of its frozen features are similar to those on Greenland, which suggests the moon could hold life.

A study published Tuesday in the journal Nature Communications studied double ridges — a geological feature common to Europa comprised of two parallel ridges and a central trough down the middle — a feature also found in northwestern Greenland.

Scientists observed Europa’s double ridges by studying satellite images captured by the European Space Agency’s WorldView-1, WorldView-2 and WorldView-3 satellites.

Stanford University geophysicist Riley Culberg, the lead author of the study, and his team looked at the formation of Greenland’s double ridge and found it was formed by a process that would leave shallow liquid water embedded within the ice, meaning that the moon could hold life.

The surface of Jupiter’s icy moon Europa looms large in this reprocessed colored view developed in 2014, made from images taken by NASA’s Galileo spacecraft in the late 1990s. (NASA/JPL-Caltech/SETI Institute)

Europa is a young, geologically active moon with a large subsurface ocean beneath its icy shell. The moon has a diameter of 1,940 miles, making it a bit smaller than Earth’s moon, but the fourth-largest of Jupiter’s 53 known moons.

The moon is one of the likeliest candidates to hold life, given the discovery of the large, saltwater ocean that has been detected beneath the ice.

Though Europa is only one-fourth the diameter of Earth, its ocean may contain twice as much water as all of Earth’s oceans combined. Europa’s vast and unfathomably deep ocean is widely considered the most promising place to look for life beyond Earth, according to NASA Science. A passing spacecraft might be able to sample Europa’s ocean without landing on the moon’s surface. The reason: It is possible Europa’s ocean may be leaking out into space.

“Jupiter’s moon Europa is a prime candidate for extraterrestrial habitability in our solar system,” the study says. Culberg’s discovery of potential water pockets closer to the surface provides yet another potentially hospitable habitat for alien life.

However, the alien life found on Europa is much more likely to be microbial than anything viewable with the human eye. Still, such a discovery would be important.

In 2024, NASA’s robotic Europa Clipper spacecraft will launch with the mission of investigating whether Europa could be a suitable habitat for life. The orbiter will loop around Jupiter, allowing it to perform multiple close flybys of the beautifully icy moon. If the moon appears habitable, future missions to the far-off spot in our solar system seem likely.

Tel Aviv is bathed in sunshine practically year-round, so why not use that abundant free energy source for more than just rooftop water heaters?

LumiWeave, a unique sheeting material invented by company co-founder and Israeli product designer Anai Green, does just that.

Combining energy harvesting and lighting without connecting to electricity, the lightweight and flexible LumiWeave was the winning project in the 2020 international Women4Climate Tech Challenge sponsored by C40 Cities, of which the Tel Aviv-Yafo municipality is a member.

LumiWeave is being tested by Tel Aviv to provide shade by day and illumination by light, powered only by the sun. (Tel Aviv Global & Tourism)

Now, the municipality is testing LumiWeave as a way to provide zero-emissions daytime shade and nighttime lighting at Atidim Business Park.

The pilot project, organized in collaboration with the CityZone Innovation Laboratory operated by Atidim Park and Tel Aviv University, is overseen by Green and LumiWeave co-founder Tal Parnes, a high-tech entrepreneur.

Due to its simple features, LumiWeave claims to save at least half of the installation costs of standard lighting infrastructure, since it makes electrical infrastructure and heavy-duty construct redundant. It also saves 100 percent of the electricity costs. LumiWeave even allows the customer to control the time and intensity of lighting and meets all safety standards.

The main components of LumiWeave are a flexible organic photovoltaic sheet adhered to a UV-resistant fabric. This fabric is imprinted with conductive copper-based ink that acts as a circuit board. Intertwined with this fabric are polymer strips with LEDs.

Green designed the sheeting to withstand any weather condition; it carries a three-year warranty. And LumiWeave continues providing lighting even after three days without sun — which does happen occasionally during Tel Aviv winters.

LumiWeave is developing additional products with the sheeting material, including the SmartSol line of sidewalk café umbrellas that offer additional cool features, such as cellphone charging and automatic shadow position adjustment.

“I believe that LumiWeave will turn out to be a groundbreaking project,” said Tel Aviv Mayor Ron Huldai.

Huldai added the municipality also is “promoting urban plans to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, including a massive tree-planting program; expansion of green spaces; removal of polluting vehicles; and ongoing educational efforts in schools and in the public sphere.”

Solar radiation — also known as electromagnetic radiation — is emitted by the sun. While every location on Earth receives some sunlight over a year, the amount of solar radiation that reaches any one spot on the Earth’s surface varies, reports Energy.gov. Solar technologies capture this radiation and turn it into useful forms of energy.

There are two main types of solar energy technologies: photovoltaics (PV) and concentrating solar-thermal power (CSP).

VIDEO: Couple Arrested By Cops While Selling Fake Goods On Facebook Live

Couple from Mirandela in Portugal detained in April 2022 during a Facebook live sale session. (Zenger)

By Lee Bullen

This is the moment a Portuguese couple is arrested on camera by cops while in the middle of selling allegedly counterfeit goods on Facebook Live.

The couple, names not disclosed, was arrested for selling counterfeit products at their home in the Portuguese municipality of Mirandela.

The police shared footage of the arrest on social media to remind citizens that “counterfeiting is a crime”.

The couple was filming a Facebook Live video when they were caught red-handed allegedly selling the illegal goods in their home.

In the footage, the female suspect is seen hawking a pair of trainers with the Adidas logo during the Facebook Live session.

Meanwhile, a collection of bags and other products are seen filling the shelves of a cabinet behind the suspect.

A loud bang is suddenly heard at the front door and the surprised woman goes to check.

A voice is heard saying “police” in the background before shouts fill the air and a cop runs past the camera.

The officer is then seen arresting a man on the floor before turning the camera away.

According to reports, the pair were then placed under arrest and taken to a local cop shop.

The police in Mirandela declined to provide any further information to local media as the investigation continues.

Across the European Union, including in Portugal, there are tough penalties for anyone caught trading in counterfeit goods which the European Commission says is responsible for products that damage health and cause financial loss to tax authorities and companies.

In 2019, the most recent year for which figures are available, imports of counterfeit goods amounted to 119 billion euros (129 billion dollars) – up to 5.8 percent of EU imports.

The total amount of articles detained at the EU’s borders increased in 2019 compared to previous years. Despite the continued efforts of public and private stakehZenger News to turn the tide, counterfeiting is said to be still thriving.

Counterfeiters are also not just confined to luxury goods, with the fakers target goods from a broad variety of industries, such as pharmaceuticals and medical devices, consumer goods (e.g. food and drink, cosmetics and toys), business‑to‑business products (e.g. vehicle spare parts) and IT goods (e.g. phones, chargers and batteries).

The Commission which plans to introduce new initiatives this year determined that the cross‑border nature of the trade in counterfeit goods and their online dissemination means that the Member States alone cannot combat the issue.

Therefore, the EU toolbox against counterfeiting initiative will set up the fight against counterfeiting, focusing on finding ways to improve cooperation and data sharing and encourage the use of new technologies.
